Spinal Surgery and Recovery with Yoga

Man, even three months after my fourth spinal surgery and I’m still in a crazy amount of pain.  I’m 37 and my body says I’m 80.  I wish I can go back in time to before the life changing car wreck I was in.  I was going to the gym everyday, looking and feeling great.  If only when that f-250 rear ended me at 55mph, I was driving a Hummer and not a Kia Soul little hamster cage, I probably wouldn’t have had two discs completely blown out.  I swear my next vehicle is going to be a monster truck.  It’s just terrible having to live like this. There’s so much that my body won’t let me do and I don’t mean to complain but holy shit!  Anyway, I’ve been advised to start doing light yoga and I think I’m going to try it.  To me, yoga just sounds embarrassing and from what I’ve seen it just looks like a bunch or funny positions. I don’t know why I’m so self conscious about doing it even when I know it’ll probably relieve a lot of my pain if I stick with it.  Have you felt the same way about yoga or have any other suggestions?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.--
